****************************GOAL UPDATE #6****************************** February 23, 2026 This winter season has been one tough chunk of life. ✱✱✱✱✱ Bear’s chest tube became infected, and she ✱✱✱✱✱ up going septic needing emergency hospital intervention. It was scary how the infection caused her to hallucinate and it took 6 nights in hospital to get her well enough to come home. This was over the ✱✱✱✱✱ weekend at the ✱✱✱ of October when so much was going on with my own life with major house repairs, mortgage planning fiascos and trying to be the best birthday month cam lady I could. After ✱✱✱✱✱ got released, things started to really look up. Her oncologist said go enjoy your Christmas holidays, things look good and you will start a new chemotherapy treatment in the new year. Unfortunately, ✱✱✱✱✱ Bear went into hospital again over Christmas well into the new year. She was growing more tired everyday most all of December but was SO determined not to miss family time that she downplayed some symptoms and things got bad. She was borderline septic again with a small bowel perforation as well as colitis. Followed by C-Diff. It’s a small miracle we didn’t lose her with so many infections to fight on top of the cancer that has metastasized. I got incredibly sick with the flu for 2 weeks so I couldn’t even visit her most of the time she was in the hospital. Fortunately, is she a well-loved lady and a lot of friends and some family come in to see her regularly. She was there for almost three weeks. I refused to take any holiday decorations down until she got home since we didn’t capture our traditional holiday ✱✱✱✱✱✱ before she got sick. Those weeks of separation I couldn’t control were some of the most mentally challenging times in my life, dealing with being very ill while also having a very ill ✱✱✱✱✱✱. I haven’t been THAT sick since January 2020, and I am glad that I made a full recovery and ✱✱✱✱✱ Bear got out of the hospital again. She hasn’t exactly made a full recovery though… She has fallen a few times, and her ✱✱✱✱✱✱/✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱ habits are ✱✱✱✱✱✱✱ against her. She was ALMOST hospitalized Friday afternoon when she saw her doctor. Her vitals and bloodwork were good, but the lack of hydration and ✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱ was a major concern. Her chemotherapy has also been postponed until she is stronger and can ✱✱✱✱✱✱ the treatment. It was a tough appointment holding ✱✱✱✱✱ as she cried. I’m very lucky to have a great therapist to help me figure out all the feelings that come up when being a full-time caregiver, an exciting, fun cam lady, a kind ✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱/family ✱✱✱✱✱✱ & also trying to remember to keep some sacred time for myself. YOU amazing supporters have been such a lifeline as I navigate these unknown waters while battling some fierce storms. I cannot thank you all enough nor can I fully explain what this support means. There are times I feel like a crazy lady out here doing life her way, on an unbeaten path that’s entirely my own. It feels like the Universe takes care of me and I feel grateful every day for the life I have so I can be there when my family needs it most. Thank you SO much for doing this with me. This goal has been updated a few times but there hasn’t been a fun show in some time now for the ✱✱✱✱✱✱✱ who are a part of this wonderful ✱✱✱✱.
