I have been taking Miss Meow to and from the vet all summer, I’m scared, I haven’t been able to cuddle her without her breaking out in a coughing fit. Updated version: I have spent over 2000$ on vet bills and tests to finally find out that Miss meow has Aspiration Pneumonia, this kind of pneumonia requires months of medication, to find out that she had this we had to go through several X-rays as well as a bronchial wash to cultivate what she had in her lungs. She used to break out in a coughing fit for a minute a couple times a day which with the medication she’s on now had gone down to a few times a day for only about 30 seconds or under that and she has finally had a hairball! When I first got her and noticed what was going on I thought she was just trying to cough up a hairball not struggling with really bad pneumonia. She might have permanent damage from this even after all the treatment with meds but at least it’s not worse than what I thought. Everything contributed to the goal here will go towards vet appointments, medication and taking care of a mold issue in the basement that could equally be damaging my lungs as well as hers. Update! march/22/2024 Miss meow is ✱✱✱✱✱✱ having coughing fits, she is still on medication because of the aspiration pneumonia but because we moved away from our old living situation she is doing much better, I still need to get her in for a vet appointment and check her lungs with an xray, once we find out how shes doing she might need to stay on medication or she might be fully healed, we dont know until I can take her in and between rent, my phone bill and other bills I may not be able to do that for a while sadly I am very grateful for all the help Update June 14th 2024 It’s been a few months without coughing fits. Miss meow is ✱✱✱✱ with my ✱✱✱ but living upstairs so her health continues to be in better shape. I’m calling this goal finished since our ✱✱✱ goal was to make sure ✱✱✱✱ was okay
