Some of you know that in February 2022, one my my best friends was diagnosed with a hyperactive kitty-thyroid. During a visit, the vet weighed him at 12 lbs (many will remember he was a whopping 18-20 lbs in his day). They gave him a prescription for Methimazole (about $7.50/30 days) and a prescription for Hill's Y/D Cat food - which is iodine restricted and causes the kitty-thyroid to slow down it's production of the kitty-murder hormone. Within a week, his eyes were almost swollen shut and that's how we found out he is "resistant" to the incredibly inexpensive medication. Now he has to exclusively eat the prescription food for the rest of his life. But here's the kicker - they only wrote the food prescription to last one year. Then, the wet version was out of stock for a while and he was only eating dry food (more angst concerning this in a separate goal). I was getting by on ordering it this way because I guess they never stopped to re-check the exp date on the food (I have no idea why they would put an end date other than $$). So when the wet finally came back into stock and I tried to order it, I received notification I could not do so without another prescription. ♥ Please help me with this goal so I can cover the "examination fee" aka the fee they charge to walk in the door and the cost of stealing blood to evaluate his hormone levels. I will insist this new prescription have no expiration date. It is the only food he should eat for the rest of his life. His monthly food costs are under a separate goal.
