The Story of Brolandia
For untold generations, Brolandia was ruled by the Leoxar, a highly intelligent, cold-blooded Lizard species with unmatched strategic minds.
They ruled through dominance, law, and fear.
The Leoxar divided Brolandia into clearly defined regions and allowed other races to exist only if they served a purpose. Orcs were forged into soldiers. Dwarves were into the mountains to mine. Elves were confined to forests and river lands. Humans served as traders, scribes, and laborers. Dragons were hunted, bound, or driven to the far edges of the world.
The Leoxar maintained order through absolute authority.
They did not rule from the mainland, but on an island in the Cosmic Sea. On this island is the capital known as Sophie’s Palace.
Sophie’s Palace was the political and cultural heart of the Leoxar empire.
From there, the Leoxar watched everything.
When they began to sense their ✱✱✱, the Palace was sealed off from the rest of the empire. The Leoxar withdrew inward, isolating themselves while the rest of Brolandia remained unaware of what was coming.
The plague began subtly. Discoloration of scales, followed by lethargy and confusion. Within months, it progressed to organ failure and death. No other race was harmed. No cure was ever found.
Theories spread. Some believe it was ✱✱✱✱, some believe it was punishment for centuries of domination, a few said it came from the stars. What is known is this: the plague only ✱✱✱✱✱✱ Leoxar, and it ✱✱✱✱✱✱ them quickly once it took hold.
Facing extinction, the remaining Leoxar enacted a final contingency.
They fled. Using advanced crafts with forgotten knowledge, a small number of Leoxar escaped Brolandia entirely, vanishing into the sky and beyond the world itself. They abandoned the empire without naming a successor.
Their departure was sudden and silent.
The Leoxar people were gone. They left Sophie’s Palace intact, but empty of rules.
Today, the island is occupied only by Sophie and her circle of close companions, gathered from across Brolandia. They are not conquerors. They are not rulers. They are observers and survivors of a world that no longer has a crown.
They do not command armies, nor do they choose sides.
One Leoxar law still stands and is accepted by all races:
The ruler of Brolandia is the one who holds the majority of its land.
There are only two opposing lands that have the capability of ruling over Brolandia.
Westfall

and
East ✱✱✱

Not all land can be taken the same way.
Some regions must be fought over through direct conflict against the opposing realm or the monsters who live there.
Some can be explored, claimed, and fortified.
Others require alliances with locals, elves, trolls, dwarves, or riverfolk.
Failure to respect a land’s nature results in rebellion, curses, or loss of control.
The Broken Age will ✱✱✱.
When it does, the side that holds the majority of Brolandia will claim the throne and become the new ruler of the land, recognized by history, feared by enemies, and challenged by all who remain.
Westfall believes victory comes through ✱✱✱✱✱ and dominance.
East ✱✱✱ believes victory comes through patience and ✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱✱.
But only one will rule.
